How to Become a Christian at BeHoly.org

Recognize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Sin is not just doing something wrong or bad, it is also just thinking about it. In God's eyes if we think of doing something bad it is as if we have committed that action.

Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and receive him as your Lord and Savior. Repent of your sins and tell Jesus that you are sorry for all that you have done in the past. There is nothing that he will not forgive. It does not matter what you have done, he will forgive you everything that you have done wrong. The only sin that Jesus does not forgive is that we reject him.

Confess and tell others what Jesus has done for you. Tell your family, friends and enemies what you have done. Don't be surprised if they think you are crazy or reject you.

Find a group of believers and/or a church that will disciple you (teach and show you how to be a follower of Jesus) and help you grow as a christian.

Read the Bible daily. The Bible is our spiritual food and we need to read, study and memorize it daily. It will help you be strong and faithful.

Pray to God. Prayer is just talking to him. You don't have to use special words or phrases. The simplest way to pray is using this acronym: ACTS.

Adoration: We first praise him for who he is, for what he has done for us and for his everlasting love and kindness.
Confession: Tell him you are sorry and repent for the sins you commit daily. No one stops sinning once we become a christian. We just don't make it a habit.
Thanksgiving: Give God thanks for everything that he does for you on a daily basis.
Supplication: Ask him to supply your needs, spiritual, emotional and physical. Just tell him what you need for he has promised to supply all our needs according to his riches in heaven.

Obey and be holy: He wants us to be obedient to his commandments and live a life that is holy. This means that we live to please him and not others.

Listen to the Word. We strongly recommend that you listen to good, solid Bible teaching on radio.

Get some good Bible study aids:
1-Get a good study Bible if you can. NASB is a good translation to start with.
2-Bible Concordance: This book will help you find every word used in the Bible, its origins and meaning in the original Bible languages.
3-Bible Commentary: This book has commentaries on every verse in the Bible, word meanings, Bible customs, etc.
4-Interlineal Bible: This book has 3 Bibles in 1. Basically it has the original language, the English translation under each word (words appear out of order), and a literal translation in English.
There are many websites where you can find all of these on line if you can't afford to buy the books.
